Daddy Mbira - Mbira Penguin Talks (2014) is a half an hour computer composition entirely based on the sound of a approx. 1920 composer owned
mbira (thumb-piano).
It tries to explore all possibilities of manipulation of the relative short mbira pluck sound, like multiplication, extreme tone duration lengthening, making it possible to create chords, sound landscapes, sound beams etcetera.
The computer also made it possible to create a strict four part canon in the prime, thus combining a western classical composition method with an instrument not at all fitted to do so.
